      Joseph Citro received formal art training under the guidance of the acclaimed artist Jennifer Wiggs.   Also a writer, he published his first book of poetry, "The Six Foot Path," at the age of 19.  He has been writing and painting for over ten years and utilizes his knowledge of both creative fields to amplify each other. 

     With a great respect for language he has endeavored to infuse poetry into his paintings through simple line and varied color.  His bold, fluid lines leave impressions of larger pictures, while retaining their own carefully thought out image.  Much the same way verses in poetry reflect minute glimpses of the whole, while keeping their own unique beauty.

     His paintings have been published in The William and Mary Review.

     He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

     His second book of poems "The Blue Parade" is now available
